  • Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the IRIA 2027 web portal at www.iria2027.com. No fax copies or e-mail submissions will be accepted.
  • A presenting author may submit a maximum of 3 abstracts (including paper and poster abstracts).
  • An abstract may only be submitted once. Duplicate abstracts (reporting the same data) submitted under a different title or authorship or subtype will not be considered.
  • The first author shall be the presenting author; a maximum of 6 co-authors are permitted (mention the designation, department & the institution).
  • No changes to the abstract’s content or authorship will be permitted after final submission
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English only.

4.2 Abstract Formatting

  • The abstract is limited to a maximum of 300 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations).
  • Submit abstracts as a Word document using 12-point font in Times New Roman or Arial, as specified in the web portal.
  • The title should be in sentence case.
  • Minimize the use of abbreviations in the body of the abstract. Provide the full expansion when an abbreviation is first used.
  • References may be included in the abstract but will count towards the word limit.

4.3 Structure of the Abstract

For E-poster category of Scientific Exhibit (based on research data), the abstract must be structured as follows:

  • Aims and objectives
  • Materials and methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion
  • References

For all other E-poster categories (Educational Exhibit and Case Series), the abstract must be structured as follows:

  • Aims and Objectives
  • Outline/table of contents
  • Take home points/ message

For all E-poster categories, supporting images / tables may be uploaded as a single pdf file (including a maximum of 5 slides or pages)

4.4 Originality, Copyright & Ethics

  • The work must be original and unpublished. E-posters / papers previously presented elsewhere in some other conference / forum cannot be submitted.
  • Radiological images should be from author’s own work and not copied from anywhere.
  • If any material (text, graphs, charts, etc.) is borrowed from other sources, the authors must obtain appropriate permissions. Borrowed material must be clearly labelled in the e-poster/slides with full citations.
  • The presentation must be non-promotional and non-commercial in nature. Equipment and agents should be referred to by generic names. Commercial logos are prohibited.
  • If the presentation involves off-label use of a drug, device, or technique, this must be explicitly disclosed.
  • For research studies involving human subjects, a statement confirming informed consent and ethics committee / IRB approval must be included. For animal studies, compliance with NIH or equivalent institutional guidelines must be acknowledged.

4.5 AI Tools Disclosure

  • The use of AI-based tools (e.g., generative AI for text, figures, schematics, flowcharts, or image processing) must be disclosed in the abstract and the e-poster. Authors should specify which tools were used and for what purpose. Non-disclosure of such usage will lead to immediate rejection.

4.6 Patient Confidentiality & Blinding

  • The identity of the patient (name, hospital ID, or any identifying information) must not appear in any image or text. Appropriate patient consent must be obtained.
  • The name or identity of the authors’ institution should not appear in any images submitted with the abstract, to maintain the integrity of the double-blind review process.

4.7 Image Quality Standards

  • All images should be of high diagnostic quality.
  • All images / videos should be incorporated in the powerpoint itself and set on autoplay.
  • Use arrows, annotations, and labels on images where necessary to highlight key findings.

4.8 Copyright, Licensing & Withdrawal

  • By submitting the abstract, the author retains copyright but grants IRIA and its academic wing ICRI a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to present the content on the IRIA website and educational programs, and to archive it for scientific record. IRIA will not sub-licence the content to a third party.
  • It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure appropriate grammar and spelling. We recommend proofreading by a colleague or use of grammar-checking tools before submission.
  • All communications regarding acceptance, rejection, or change of category will be sent by email.
  • Withdrawal of abstracts: Requests for withdrawal must be sent to iria2027poster@gmail.com before the submission deadline.

4.9 Review Process

  • All abstracts will be evaluated through a two-stage, double-blind peer-review process by members of the scientific committee.
  • Abstracts will be judged on scientific, research, and/or clinical value, originality of work, and potential impact.
  • The decision of the scientific committee (acceptance, rejection, or modification of category) will be final. No appeals will be entertained.
  • Presentation is expected to reflect the contents of the accepted abstract. Substantial deviation may result in rejection of the submission as determined by the scientific committee.

4.10 Prizes & Incentives

  • Selected high-quality posters (scientific or educational) will be invited for a brief 5-minute oral presentation in an informal setting in the main Poster Hall. This is by invitation only, based on complete e-poster review and author consent. No separate abstract submission is required.
  • The top posters will receive attractive prizes.
  • The decision of the judges / organising committee regarding prizes will be final.

5. Specific Guidelines for E-Poster Categories

PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT A SINGLE CASE REPORT.

5.1 Scientific Exhibit

  • A scientific exhibit is an original research paper. It may be a theme-driven research with a comprehensive report; a work-in-progress report of ongoing research with preliminary results; or a brief report of a particular new aspect or understanding of clinical radiology.
  • The final presentation must include a “Limitations” section acknowledging the limitations of the study.
  • Maximum 16 slides (including title and concluding slides).

5.2 Educational Exhibit

  • Educational exhibits should provide substantial or novel educational value. They should be designed to teach or review radiological observations, pathological correlations, procedures, techniques, treatments, or interventions related to imaging practice.
  • Examples: topic reviews, pictorial essays, “how-to” demonstrations.
  • The abstract must reflect the educational value and conclude with 2–3 clear take-home messages / teaching points.
  • Maximum 16 slides (including title and concluding slides).

5.3 Case Series

  • A minimum of 3 cases is required. Single case reports will not be accepted. Exceptions may be made only for extremely unique conditions of high educational value.
  • The abstract should include sections on pattern recognition and key learning points derived from the case series.
  • Maximum 16 slides (including title and concluding slides).

6. Guidelines After Abstract Acceptance

6.1 E-Poster Upload

  • Upon acceptance, the presenting author will receive an email notification. The complete e-poster must be uploaded via www.iria2027.com between 15th to 30th November 2026.
  • Late submissions, submissions exceeding the allowed number of slides, or those with gross deviation from the accepted abstract will not be accepted.

6.2 PowerPoint Format Requirements

  • E-posters must be uploaded in PowerPoint (.pptx) format.
  • Preferred aspect ratio: 16:9 (widescreen). The system will also support 4:3.
  • Slide limits: maximum 16 slides (including title and concluding slides.
  • Total file size should not exceed 20 MB.
  • Videos, if any, must be integrated/embedded into the PowerPoint file.
  • Posters should not consist solely of text. The inclusion of high-quality images is mandatory to illustrate findings.
  • The presentation should be designed so that attendees can view it in its entirety in under 10 minutes.

6.3 Content Standards for Uploaded E-Posters

  • All rules regarding patient confidentiality, copyright, AI disclosure, image quality, non-promotional content, off-label disclosure, and ethics compliance apply equally to the uploaded e-poster.
  • The name/identity of the authors’ institution should not appear in any images (to preserve blinding during review). Author details should appear only on the title slide.
  • Provide references using Arabic numerals in square brackets, e.g. [1, 2–5]. Include only works cited in the poster. A maximum of 10 references is recommended.
  • Use full sentences and bulleted items as appropriate. Provide sufficiently detailed information — do not simply transfer your abstract text into the poster slides.
  • Use the International System of Units (SI) for all radiation and laboratory measurements.
